About Westminster:
The Church in Austin Park
A church in the neighborhood for the city.
Westminster—literally “West Church”—was planted near what was the edge of Amarillo in 1951 and still carries the heart of a neighborhood church. Austin Park is the green space in our backyard, Austin Middle School is the mission field across the street, and the historic Wolflin neighborhood is the community we call home.
We believe church should feel both like coming home and being sent out. We gather because Jesus is alive, His gospel is true, and His grace changes everything. We scatter because the hope He gives isn’t meant to be kept inside our walls.
Our roots go deep—we affirm many of the historic creeds of the Church and the wisdom of the Reformed confessions, not as dusty artifacts, but as time-tested guides that point us to Jesus in every generation. They remind us that faith isn’t about chasing trends, but about holding on to the gospel that has carried the Church for centuries.
In a world that’s always changing, we anchor ourselves in the ancient way of Christ. And from that anchor, we’re sent into our city to live out our faith—serving, listening, inviting, and bearing witness to the One who makes all things new.
Westminster is a member congregation of ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians, which is Reformed in theology, Presbyterian in government, and Egalitarian and Evangelical in spirit and mission. For more information about the ECO’s beliefs and values, visit https://eco-pres.org
